What I Do

Three disciplines,
one point of view

01
Product Design
End-to-end UX/UI design from discovery and wireframing through to high-fidelity interfaces and design systems. I build visuals that balance user needs, technical constraints, and brand coherence — producing assets engineers can ship with confidence.
UX Research UI Design Design Systems Prototyping Usability Testing Figma
02
Product Management
Owning the full product lifecycle — from problem definition and prioritisation to sprint planning, stakeholder alignment, and post-launch iteration. I translate business goals into clear product roadmaps that engineering, design, and commercial teams rally around.
Roadmapping Prioritisation Stakeholder Mgmt OKRs Go-to-Market Agile / Scrum
03
Product Strategy
Connecting product decisions to business outcomes. I define market positioning, identify growth levers, and build the strategic narrative that guides product investment — ensuring every feature shipped moves the needle on revenue, retention, or reach.

How I Work

A repeatable process
for meaningful outcomes

Great products don't happen by accident. They're the result of a disciplined, human-centred process applied consistently — from the first stakeholder conversation to the first real user interaction and beyond. I follow four phases on every engagement.

Phase 01
🔍
Discover
User interviews, jobs-to-be-done mapping, competitive analysis, and stakeholder alignment. Understanding the real problem before touching any design tool.
Phase 02
🎯
Define
Synthesising research into a clear problem statement, success metrics, and prioritised feature set. Building the strategic rationale that grounds all design decisions.
Phase 03
✏️
Design
Iterative design from low-fidelity flows to polished interfaces and interactive prototypes. Continuous feedback loops with users, engineers, and business stakeholders.
Phase 04
🚀
Deliver
Detailed handover specs, design QA through development, launch, and post-release measurement against defined success metrics. The loop never truly closes.

About
"I don't just ship features — I build the strategy, systems, and alignment that make great products inevitable at scale."

I'm Emmanuel Kabeya, a Senior Product Manager and Founder based in Lusaka, Zambia. Over the past 7+ years I've built a career spanning fintech, digital payments, energy research, and now digital health — always at the intersection of strategy, design, and execution.

My journey started as a Software Engineer at Cellulant building backend payment infrastructure, progressed through Product Owner and Senior PM roles owning platforms that now process $400M+ in transaction volume across six African markets, and has expanded into consulting (Qualis Digital Finance) and founding my own venture — Teladoc Zambia — where I serve as Chief Product Architect, bringing the same rigour of fintech product leadership to healthcare access.

A research role at Synove Energy in Mauritius sharpened the analytical and synthesis skills that now underpin my approach to user research and product discovery. I believe the best products come from a combination of deep domain knowledge, honest user empathy, and relentless focus on measurable outcomes.

🧭
Revenue-Driven Strategy
I connect product decisions directly to business outcomes. The $400M+ in transaction volume I've influenced came from rigorous prioritisation frameworks (RICE, MoSCoW) applied to decisions that actually moved revenue.
🤝
Cross-functional Leadership
I've led engineering, design, operations, and commercial teams through complex, multi-market launches — building alignment across cultures and time zones without losing execution speed.
⚙️
Engineering Foundation
Starting as a Software Engineer gave me the technical depth to collaborate credibly with engineering — translating business needs into feasible specs and avoiding the costly misalignment that slows most product teams.
🌍
African Market Depth
Six markets. USSD, mobile money, proximity payments, enterprise checkout. I understand the infrastructure, regulatory, and user-behaviour nuances that determine whether a fintech product succeeds or fails in Africa.
